Canada does not greet you with words, but with air so fresh that you think it was kept just for you. Mountains that lean over lakes like mirrors, villages where time takes the scenic route, and cities that sparkle like sunlight on fresh snow. From the rugged Rockies to the coast where flowers flirt with the sea, this journey feels less like a plan — and more like a story you’re free to finish yourself.

From prairie to peak, from hot springs to ocean shores — in two weeks you’ll drive straight through Western Canada’s greatest hits. You start in Calgary, where cowboy boots meet city lights, and wind past turquoise lakes and glaciers via Kananaskis, Banff and Jasper. Along the way: deer that cross at dawn, a gondola view that hushes you, and kayaks on water that glitters like liquid jade. You’ll soak in hot springs, wander through flower fields, meet Victoria’s charm and Vancouver’s spark. And no — you haven’t really arrived until a squirrel looks at you as if you’ve met before. Day 14 leaves you on Vancouver’s edge: mountains at your back, ocean at your feet. Ready for the flight, and already a little in love with all that rough and soft at once. Curious? Send me a message.

DAY 1
Calgary — City between prairie and peaks
You land where the endless prairie suddenly collides with the first peaks of the Rockies.
In the afternoon, time for a first exploration: from the Calgary Tower to strolling through Heritage Park.
Look out over the city and wonder if that skyscraper there looks just higher because you're already sitting so high.
Try your first Canadian beer — it always tastes better if you're not quite sure where you are.
Stay in the heart of the city, with the sound of traffic and cowboy hats in your head.
Overnight stay: 1 night
DAY 2-3
Kananaskis — Peace, river & fresh mountain air
The road meanders into the mountains, to a valley where the sky is crystal clear and the scent of pine welcomes you.
Mornings are here for deer watching and coffee with a view.
Walk, bike, ride horses, or just do nothing at all except listen to the river.
You notice that silence here does not feel empty, but full — full of birds, full of wind, full of mountains.
Evenings bring cozy lodges, the soft rustling of pines and maybe a campfire conversation.
Overnight stay: 2 nights
DAY 4-5
Banff — The Rockies Icon
You enter Banff via Canmore and Harvey Heights, which feels like a postcard you step into.
Visit Bow Falls, be impressed by the Banff Springs Hotel, and take the gondola up to Sulphur Mountain.
Upstairs, it seems like the world just stops to let you watch.
Get out on the water — Lake Minnewanka in the sun or whitewater rafting for a bit of adrenaline.
Stroll through the city center in the evening, taste local beers and decide you actually want to stay here for another week.
Overnight stay: 2 nights
DAY 6-7
Jasper — Along the Icefields Parkway
The Icefields Parkway isn't a ride, it's a slow-motion movie where you play.
Lake Louise and Peyto Lake are reinventing the color blue.
Stand on glacial ice with an Ice Explorer and feel like you're standing on something older than any story.
In Jasper: cruise across Maligne Lake, glide on the SkyTram, or immerse yourself in Miette Hot Springs.
Nights here call for stargazing with a blanket and hot drink in your hand.
Overnight stay: 2 nights
DAY 8
Sun Peaks — Mountains in summer mode
The Yellowhead Highway winds to Sun Peaks, where the mountains seem to be relaxing in their summer plumage.
Along the way, spot Mount Robson: tall, proud, and often with a wreath of clouds.
Walk among flowers in alpine meadows, as if you were walking through a painting.
Break for a piece of homemade cakes in a mountain café.
Stay at a resort where the silence is almost audible at night.
Overnight stay: 1 night
DAY 9-10
Harrison Hot Springs — Hot water & wide views
Through the dramatic Fraser Canyon, past Hell's Gate, to a village that has warmth in all its forms.
Let the minerals in the hot springs do their work while your muscles remember what relaxation feels like.
Sandy beach, kayaking, paddleboarding — water is always close by.
Walk along the quay in the evening while the sky slowly changes to all shades of pink.
Spend the night with the scent of water and pines through the open window.
Overnight stay: 2 nights
DAY 11-13
Victoria & Vancouver — From the sea of flowers to urban energy
Ferry to Vancouver Island, Butchart Gardens in full bloom: color, fragrance, the whole bouquet.
Walk around the harbour in Victoria, get ice cream and admire the old facades.
Back to the mainland via Nanaimo, where murals tell stories on stone walls.
In Vancouver: from Stanley Park to Granville Island, from Capilano Suspension Bridge to a beer overlooking the skyline.
End your trip with an evening on a rooftop, where the mountains on the outskirts of the city glow in the evening sun.
